Water-free dye ink prepn. for printing acid-modified synthetic fibres by heat transfer printing contains scarcely water-soluble cationic dye(s) (Ia) or dye lake(s), (Ib), an organic solvent (II), which does not dissolve (I), and a resin (III), which is soluble in (II). The claims also cover transfer sheets produced by applying this ink and an alkaline ink to a substrate (IV) in separate stages but any sequence. These inks are suitbale for printing acid-modified (meth)acrylic, polyester and nylon fibres. The inks, in which (I) is finely dispersed, and the transfer sheets produced from them have good keeping qualities. In an example, a yellow dye ink was prepd. from 5 pts. C.I. Basic Yellow 28, 10 pts. ethylcellulose, 0.5 pt. 'Emulgen 905' (RTM), 0.5 pt. CaCO3 and 85 pts. xylene. It was stable and could be kept for at least a month at 50 degrees C.
|
