Appts. driving a needle into the tissue or skin of a patient has a needle of conically pointed end and flat head section which is pressed against the patient by means of a hollow device (3). The needle (2) is slidably mounted within the hollow body (3). A further sliding device (4a) is provided by means of which the needle may be ejected from the hollow body (3) into the patient's skin or tissue. A bushing (4) and a spring (5) are used to control the action of the needle ejecting sliding device (4a) within the hollow body. This arrangement allows the needle to be injected quasi-automatically and without risk of infection.
