<p>The hand press has an upper platen (12) holding a die (15) and is used to coin or form a die or mould. The upper platen is fixed to guide pillars (2), the lower ends of these being retained by a base plate (1). The lower platen and work holder (6) is fitted to the ram of the hydraulic cylinder and is manually raised between the pillar guides by a handle (5) at side. This operates a small self-contained hydraulic pump (3). A manometer (10) is provided, to show the pressures attained, and a valve (7) at the side of the pump is opened to permit ram retraction.</p> |
