摘要 1294865 Blowing glass COMPAGNIE DE SAINT-GOBAIN 16 Dec 1969 [17 Dec 1968 18 June 1969] 61223/69 Heading C1M A hollow glass body is formed by initially forming a preliminary blank furnished with a blowing orifice, holding the blank in a sleeve mould, blowing the blank internally and simultaneously subjecting the major part of its external surface to the repeated actions of localized gaseous counter pressures and thermal control. Square cross-section bottles may be produced by suspending a blank from a rotating sleeve mould 1 and blowing. Two devices 2 for generating gaseous counter pressures and two thermal regulating devices 3 are located at 90 degrees intervals around the mould 1 and oscillate towards and away from the blank as it rotates by virtue of a lever-and-cam system 10, 13, 14. As the moulding proceeds a support 12 is gradually lowered causing the devices 2, 3 to increase their amplitude of oscillation and lowering a jack 4 on which the blank rests, until the jack reaches its maximum depression, at which point the controllers 3 are controlled so that the bottle has sufficient rigidity to retain its shape. Coolers 28 are provided to act on the neck of the bottle. Cylindrical bottles may be produced at high speed on an apparatus (Figs. 3 and 5) which includes a plurality of sleeve moulds 34 mounted on a movable chain 33. The blanks carried by the moulds 34 are blown by blowing tubes 39 controlled by the action of a cam 45 on shafts 40 of the tubes, which shafts are mounted on a chain 42. While being blown the blanks pass along a corridor between two lateral sets of formers comprising devices 47 for generating gaseous counter-pressures and devices 48 for thermal conditioning. A chain 51 is located below this corridor to provide supports 52 for each moulding, the height thereof being controlled by a cam 55. When the bottles have been formed a cam 56 causes the jaws of the corresponding sleeve mould to open, thus releasing the bottles on to a conveyer 57.
