<p>A method of manufacturing a set square consists of a series of operations following one after the other in a labour-intensive process designed to simplify and reduce the cost of production. The set square consists of a stamped foot piece and a longer stamped arm mounted at right angles to the foot. Also attached to the foot is a back plate. The arm and foot are welded together after being stamped out, deburred, and milled to exact measurements. The right angled set square is then attached to the stop plate using a resistance welding method for projection or spot welding.</p> |
