Title cpds. of formula (I) (where A = 5-8C carbocyclic ring, opt. substd. by OH or lower alkyl, opt. unsatd. and opt. contg. a carbon bridging gp) are anti-hypotensives prepd. by reacting 1-amino-2-(3-hydroxyphenyl) ethanol with the corresp. cyclic ketone. Pharm. acceptable salts of (I) are also claimed.
