PURPOSE:To dye rope into a hue of clear blue by repeating immersion of cotton warp for denim using a dyeing solution of indigo derivative, squeezing and air oxidation and oxidizing the cotton warp in a solution containing an oxidizing agent after the final air oxidation. CONSTITUTION:Cotton warp for denim in a roped state is immersed in a dyeing solution prepared by reducing an indigo derivative shown by the formula (X is bromine or chlorine; n is 1-6) with hydrosulfite, squeezed and oxidized with air and these operations are repeated. After the final air oxidation, the rope is oxidized in a solution containing an oxidizing agent such as sodium perborate, sodium percarbonate or hydrogen peroxide to give cotton warp for denim for clear blue denim having bleaching effects with chlorine.
