The planting out machine has a support piece which keeps the plants upright for transplanting into a furrow, and comprises a feed device which feeds the plants to the support. A transfer conveyor slopes downwards in the opposite direction from the bottom end of the feed conveyor. The support is positioned facing the end of the transfer conveyor. A distributor roller and a separation roller which rotate in opposite directions to the feed conveyor transfer the plants from the feed conveyor into the transfer conveyor. A recovery box and a control roller remove surplus plants at a certain distance along the transfer conveyor. The plants are placed into rectacles at the end of the transfer conveyor.
