<p>Method of making a building facade watertight while allowing transpiration of water vapour comprises applying to the facade an impregnation layer of a combination of siliconates in aq. phase, also contg. a small proportion of acrylic and vinyl resins in aq. emulsion, then, after drying the impregnated layer, applying a thicker layer contg. in aq. soln. mineral elements of high hardness, in a fine state of division pigments, resins and siliconates compatible with those of the first layer. The adhesion between the thicker layer and the facade surface is improved by the presence of the intermediate impregnated layer. The layers provide a protection against wear due to the weather and solar radiation.</p> |
