<p>The jack has a single-acting ram and two levers with supporting feet arranged in a triangular pattern, pivoting on one part of the ram and situated on either side of its lengthwise axis. The links are fitted between the other part of the ram and the levers, which are forced apart by movement of the link attachment point and the lever attachment point towards each other. There is a detachable mounting on the ram for a compressed air bottle to actuate it. The levers can be of U-section, with the open ends of the Us towards each other so that, when folded, they partly enclose the ram and links, and lie parallel to each other.</p> |
