<p>The roller skate (1) has two rollers and is fixed to the foot by a toe piece (7) fastened with a shoe lace (6). An ankle strap (9) provided with a pad (10) is fixed to the heel piece (8). The additional ankle strap (13) encloses two padded half loops (12,15). The half loop (12) is attached to the heel piece (8) by two links (21,22) connected by pivot pins (23,24,25). This method of fixing retains the skate securely to the foot but at the same time does not restrict the movement of the ankle during skating.</p> |
