<p>A series of identical confections are conveyed intermittently through the machine and each time the conveyor pauses, a mobile clamping plate grips several confections on the conveyor opposite a paste injection station. Nozzles aligned axially with the clamped confections are advanced to inject a metered dose of paste into each confection. The injection nozzles are positionally replaced by air nozzles from which compressed air is blow into each confection so that the paste is spread as a thin coating all confection so that the paste is spread as a thin coating all over the inside of the cylinder. The conveying, clamping, dosing, injecting and spreading operations are pref. programmed in automatic sequence. Used adding an internal edible coating to a hollow cylindrical eatable. The hollow casing is usually pastry, cake, sugar, etc. and the pastes comprise seasoning, dressings, flavourings, etc. such as cream, chocolate, icing, ketchup sauce, mayonnaise, all injectable as pastes. The machine mechanises a previously manual task. It is suitable for high speed prodn. at hygienic standards.</p> |
