Liquid evaporator for laboratory use has a cylindrical evaporation chamber connected to a gas outlet, a heated housing with a supply line for the liquid sample. One end of the supply line near the end of the evaporation chamber is tangential in relation to the cylindrical wall of the evaporation chamber, to which supply line a preheater for carrier gas is connected.
