<p>The machine cuts veneer from timber (3) on a platform (2) at one end of the chassis. The sheet is produced by a head and cutter blade, reciprocated by a power cylinder. After each stroke, the platform is automatically raised. An endless conveyor belt (18) of several parallel strips, fits behind the head. This is driven by an electric motor (25) and has a tensioning device (27 to 30). As the veneer sheets are cut, they pass upwards onto a smaller conveyor (31) on the cutter head. This has its own motor (35) and the sheets pass over the top to fall on the conveyor belt for removal.</p> |
