The two-stroke engine has a combustion chamber in the cylinder head and an ignition chamber in the piston crown. The sparking plug is located in the cylinder head near the ignition chamber. The ignition chamber is connected near the bottom dead centre via a channel to a storage chamber. This in turn is connected to the crank case chamber via an aperture. At t.d.c. the storage chamber is connected to an additional carburettor via a supply channel with valve or via a piston recess. It is also in connection with the crankcase chamber directly via an aperture or via a piston window. The ignition chamber is located on the side opposite to the outlet.
