An instant picture camera uses a multiple layer film band. The developer layer is between the light sensitive layer (2) and the support layer (7) of the film strip. A layer (5) is also provided which consists of a series of separated capsules containing an activator fluid. The capsules (5a) in the layer (5) are manufactured so that they may be discharged by thermal action at a melting station or position. This ensures an even spread of activator over the film surface without using rollers or other mechanical means.
