A neckstrap (1) is fitted around the neck of the driver and has a push button (2) at the front under the chin. As the driver starts to doze, and droops his head, the bottom is pressed to operate an audible warning. Simple lead connections to a dash-board alarm are also provided. The system enables the driver to monitor his dozing automatically. Most dozing is preceeded by repeated nodding of the head, often unnoticed by the driver. The device is simple and improves safety at night.
