<p>Electro-hydraulic discharge device for deforming a tubular workpiece e.g. a can in a mould with an elastomeric chamber filled with a first electrically non-conducting fluid for the transmission of pressure waves, electrodes fitted in this chamber being connected to an external supply. An ionised conducting fluid path of limited diameter is formed between the electrodes. The device has a feed source having an electrical buffer unit or accumulator unit, with supply or withdrawal of the first fluid to or form the elastomeric chamber.</p> |
