Ignition distributor for IC engine

The ignition distributor, is for an IC engine. The distributor has a shaft and a pot-shaped housing, whose base supports one bearing, and a support plate at the top of the housing carrying the second bearing for the shaft.- The support plate (24) is clamped to the inner wall (55) of the housing (1). The inner wall of the housing has two pairs of recesses (65) approx. at right angles to the shaft (3). One recess in each pair has a greater clearance than the other recess. The spring ring (54) that holds the support plate in place engages with these pairs of recesses
