<p>A pneumatic automatic temperature controller uses a section drive and has a temperature transducer and pneumatic shaping elements in one compact unit. It is suitable for temperature control in vehicles. The temperature controller (16) is mounted between a temperature transducer element (1) built into the same unit, and an actuator (32) which drives a mechanism for varying the temperature concerned. The controller itself is operated by a pneumatic supply (27) and compares the pressure in a chamber stabilised with spring loaded membranes (7,10) with that in another chamber (40) affected by the position of a valve (1). This is in turn affected by a stepoint control input (15) and a bimetallic strip (2) which monitors the temperature of the air pumped from the temperature controlled space in the vehicle.</p> |
