1477536 Separators for storage batteries DSO BALKANKAR 20 Nov 1974 [21 Nov 1973] 50399/74 Heading H1B Tubular battery separators are formed by gripping the separator cloth of, e.g. polyester between jaws 4, 5 and 6 and sets of rods 1, 2 which are inserted in pockets in the cloth, the jaws then move to the right for a distance equal to the length of the separator, at the same time knifes cut the cloth longitudinally and weld the edges. The cloth and rods are then gripped by jaws 9, 10, and the jaws 4, 5, 6 opened and returned to their initial position. Knives 16 cut the formed separators transversely. |
