<p>The gauge is designed to provide accurate guidance for a manually-operated circular saw used for cutting planks or wooden battens. A stop piece (2), which can be laid against a board or workbench edge, is fitted with a guide-bar (5) on a swivel mounting, for laying across the board (1) or other item to be cut. The bar can be locked in any required swivel setting. It consists of an angle section bar with a fitting arm (3) and a bearing arm (4) for laying on the board. The guide bar is mounted on one end of the bearing arm, near its centre. There may be a movable slide on the guide bar, connectable to the circular saw.</p> |
