A decentering network produces voltage or current signals for application to a radar tube so that the display is offset to compensate for the motion of the vehicle, typically a ship, in which the radar is mounted. A so-called motion display is then generated by the radar equipment. A current digitally encoded compass reading is fed to an input network (1) and the sin and cosin functions of this angle are derived from fixed store tables (3, 4). These are added (5, 6) to another function representing the ship's water speed derived from a suitable input circuit (13). These values are converted in digital to analogue converters (7, 8) to produce the offset signals required by the display tube. A resulting arrangement (9) to remove drift errors at suitable time intervals is also provided.
|
