<p>1449663 Bonded loop pile fabrics DEERING MILLIKEN RESEARCH CORP 10 Sept 1973 [24 Nov 1972] 42390/73 Addition to 1392411 Heading D1K Each of radially slidable blades 18 on a rotor 12 raised after an upper blade 17 has looped yarns 10 over the preceding adjacent blade 18, to form the first limb of the next loop. Blade 17 slides in a presser foot 94 which is lowered onto the blade 18 over which the preceding loop was formed to hold it in place as blade 17 is forming the following loop. Blade 17 has notches 106 in its lower edge to form loop of different height and hence a sculptured pile on the fabric, and is shogged on subsequent loop forming operations to form a sculptured pattern, (Figures 13-17, not shown). Blades 18 are slidable in radial notches in rings (48) Figure 2 (not shown) which have teeth on their inside, driven by pinions 50, 52 and 54. The blades are held in their notches by springs. An adhesive coated backing 20, Figure 1 is applied to the loops by roller 30, and the adhesive is dried by infra-red heaters 32. The rotor 12 may be moved stepwise. or continuously.</p> |
