<p>The detonator is for use with multiple charges connected in a chain and time-delay fuses, having a reducer valve between the cap and the fuse. The cap is formed by a compsn. of trinitro-resorcinate of lead, sealed on the firing side by a sheet of material. The reduction valve has an opening below the cap and at the centre of the detonator axis, and >=1 opening provided to discharge the gas under press. on firing. The sheet of material is in the form of a small thin-walled bowl, whose internal dia. is roughly equal to the external cap dia. A collar is formed on cap and bowl after their insertion in a cap support, this collar being sealed by waterproof glue unaffected by temp.</p> |
