<p>A disposable bed covering which may be handled as a unit to facilitate the making up of a bed in a hospital or the like. The covering includes an air permeable, highly compressible rectangular mat of filamentary polymeric material, and an air permeable non-woven polymeric sheet carried by the mat and overlying at least the upper surface thereof. The bed covering is designed to be positioned upon a conventional bed mattress, and the normal movements of the patient resting thereupon create a ventilating air flow which passes through the mat and sheet to vaporize the moisture on the skin of the patient and thereby assist in the prevention and treatment of bed sores and the like.</p> |
