1494869 Chlorine releasing composition FMC CORP 19 Dec 1975 [23 Dec 1974] 52124/75 Heading A5E A water soluble chlorine releasing composition comprises 1-99% by wt. of sodium dichloroisocyanurate dihydrate and 99-1% by wt. of a quaternary ammonium salt of the formula: wherein X is Cl<SP>-</SP>, SO 4 = or PO 4 <SP>#</SP> and m is 1-3 and n is 0-3, R 1 , R 2 and R 3 are selected from C 1-4 alkyl and benzoyl, and R 4 is 'selected from C 10-18 alkyl; a mono-, di-, or trialkyl substituted benzyl, at least one of the alkyl substituents being a C 10-18 alkyl, the other substituent/s being C 1-4 alkyl; and a mono-, di- or trialkyl substituted phenoxy- - lower - alkoxy - lower - alkyl - radical (lower=C 1-3 ) having a total of 8-12 C atoms in the substituents; or 99-1% by wt. of a quaternary ammonium salt of the formula: wherein X is CI-, SO 4 = or PO 4 <SP>#</SP>, m is 1-3, R 5 , R 6 and R 7 are selected from C 1-4 alkyl and benzyl and R 8 is mono-, di- or trisubstituted xylylene, at least one of the substituents being a C 10-18 alkyl, the other substituent/s being C 1-4 alkyl groups: The composition may also contain sodium carbonate, fillers such as diatomaceous earth and colouring agents. A preferred form of the composition is a layered tablet. |
