The bulk material hopper has a conical bottom outlet to a conveyor. A vibratory component (30) is inserted through the outlet (12) into the hopper (10), and set in motion by a drive mechanism (26) outside the latter. The component can extend inwards as far as the section of the hopper where bridging is likely to occur, or at least into the conical portion, being bar-shaped and situated centrally in them. Branches or paddles can be attached to the bar in the conical portion, extending towards its wider end, while bosses restricting the flow can be mounted on it or near the actual outlet.
