Independent suspension with steeply increasing reaction - has opposing polarity permanent magnets on bump stops carried by cantilever arms

The axle is supported at the ends of trailing arms (5) linked to the chassis and is sprung by a magnetic spring with steeply increasing reaction. The two permanent magnets (6, 7) are set with opposing polarity between the trailing arms and the chassis. This provides a light and simple suspension with a compact mounting. No complex suspension circuits are rewuired. Lateral stability is provided by cross struts (12) linked to the chassis on elastic mountings.
