[Also in Division C2] Photo-sensitive compositions used in the preparation of diazotype materials comprise a diazonium compound derived from an amine of formula wherein R 1 is an alkyl which may be substituted, branched alkyl, aralkyl or aryl group, Y is F, Cl or Br and -N (R 2 ) R 3 is a tertiary amino group in which R 2 and R 3 are separate substituent groups or form a saturated heterocyclic ring with the N atom (see Division C2). In Examples 6-14 compositions containing 4-dimethylamino-3-chloro-2- ethylthio-benzene, 4-dimethylamino-3-chloro-2- isobutylthio-benzene, 4-dimethylamino-3-chloro-2- (2<SP>1</SP> -hydroxyethylthio) benzene, 4-N-methyl-N- benzylamino-3-chloro-2-ethylthiobenzene,4-N- methyl-N-cyclohexylamino-3-chloro-2-ethylthiobenzene, or 4-dimethylamino-3-chloro-2-(4<SP>1</SP>- methylphenylthio) benzene diazonium chloride or the diazosulphone, diazosulphonate or sarcosine diazoamino derivatives of 4-dimethylamino-3- chloro-2-ethylthiobenzene are coated on to paper or on to a cellulose acetate butyrate layer on a polyethylene terephthalate film. |
