<p>The cap, which is made from plastic material, has a tear-off portion (5) situated along its lower edge. This portion is attached to the main cap by lugs and is at the same level as a protruding shoulder which is integrally formed on the neck of the bottle. This tear-off portion (5) is normally of such a shape that it can be passed over the protruding shoulder on the bottle. When this has been done, the portion is heated so that it can be moulded accurately to the shape of the bottle. A cut in the ring ensures that it can follow the contour accurately. The tear-off portion has a thick region below a detachment line (6) with a slope of less than 90 deg.</p> |
