The process is of use where the gas compsn. can vary significantly with time. the gas mixt. is first fed through an absorption stage where (part of) the material is absorbed. The residual gas is then compressed and passed to a second absorption stage, where the residue of the material is removed from the inert gas to give an enriched solvent soln. The material is then recovered by thermal desorption. The uneven compsn. of the feed stream is evened out by using a large quantity of absorbent, esp. in the entrance region of the first absorber. The partially, charged absorbent from this stage is then forward to the higher pressure stage. The process is for use in recovering gases and vapours whose critical temp. is above 30 degrees from inert non-condensible gases. Such gases are NH3, butane, propane, H2S, SO2, etc. The system gives optimum usage of energy, both electrical and thermal.
|
