Metal parts egg. tubes covered with a thermoplastic coating are joined together by introducing between them in the junction zone a quantity of the same thermoplastic to act as a joining agent. The parts are then heated so that the joining agent and the coatings fuse together in the junction zone. Plastic coated metal tubes are easily and firmly secured together with a waterproof joint. The joining agent may be introduced between the parts as a powder, and the parts may have a roughened or grooved surface in the junction region.
