<p>1420685 N-Haloacyl oxazolidines SCM CORP 6 Aug 1973 [15 Aug 1972 (2)] 37243/73 Heading C2C N-Haloacyl 2-substituted oxazolidines of general formula wherein R 1 is a C 2-4 haloacyl group; R 2 is a divalent radical which forms with the Z-C atom of the oxazolidine ring a cycloaliphatic group which may contain atoms other than C; and R 3 , R 4 , R 5 and R 6 are H or C 1-6 alkyl groups, or of general formula wherein R 1 , R 3 , R 4 , R 5 and R 6 are as defined above, R 7 is a C 1-12 alkyl group optionally substituted with at least one substituent selected from halogen, nitrile, nitro, alkoxy, mercapto, amide, ester, thioester or hydroxy, or is a C 1-12 alkenyl group; R 8 is H or chosen from the groups defined for R 7 , are prepared by reacting the 2-substituted oxazolidine with a haloacyl halide. Amongst numerous Examples the. compounds 3-(α-chloroacetyl)-2-cyclohexanespiro-4,4-dimethyl-oxazolidine and 3- (α-chloroacetyl) -2-propyl-2,5-dimethyl-oxazolidine are prepared. 2 - Spirocycloaliphatic- or 2-C 1-12 - alkyloxazolidines are obtained by reacting the appropriate ketones or aldehydes withα-aminoalkanols. Herbicidal compositions comprise an N-haloacyl oxazolidine, as specified above, as active ingredient and a carrier.</p> |
