The catcher box is particularly for securing cows during treatment, and has two securing posts at the head end each hinging at one end, while the free ends can be locked in the vertical engaged position. The hinge points of the posts (6, 7) are movable in the sideways direction. These points can be near the lower edge of the head end, the upper edge of the latter being formed by a guide for the post tops, allowing the posts to hinge in a plane parallel to the head end. The hinge points (20, 21) are on a tilting lever assembly (28) moving them between a first position where the posts are vertical and a second one near the head end side posts (2, 3).
