Electric cells with solid electrolytes - comprising tellurium or selenium subhalides

In electric cells comprising an ionically conductive material between two electrodes, the ionically conductive material consists of a chalcogen halide of formula:- CuxCgyXz (where X is Cl, Br or I; x = 0 or 1; y >=1; Cg is Te and Z >= 1 when x = 0, and Cg is Se or Te and z = 1 when x = 1). The materials are cheap, light in wt., and exhibit ionic conductivity at lower temps. (e.g. 140 degrees C) than known materials.
