The dowel hole drilling machine, used for woodworking in the furniture industry, comprises a machine chassis with a number of drill spindles driven by one or more motors. There is a separate height-adjustable carrier frame (2) in the machine chassis (1) with guide-rails (3) running parallel on both sides, accommodating as separate drilling jibs (4). Each jib bears a number of drill spindles (5) for the holes to be made in the workpiece. The bottom end of each spindle has a separate gear (8) for the common electric motor (6) and chain (7) drive.
