<p>A knife system for use in comminuting machinery esp. in a meat mincing machine, has cutting blades extending radially from a central disc, which has a central hole to accommodate the end of a drive spiral. Each cutting blade (1) has a series of cutting grooves (3) cut into it. The grooves (3) run parallel to the surface of the central disc (2) and have cutting edges (4, 4') running obliquely to the mid-axis of the cutting blade assembly. This arrangement automatically clears film appearing in the grooves, cuts into consistently sized pieces, and reduces wear.</p> |
