The air stream is fed in through perforated plates to pass through the filler or other additive material as it passes to the mixing chamber used to process the component materials for an elastomeric rubber or plastic mixture. The air is then passed through a cleaning filter and recirculated. The purpose is to break the material down into a fine-grain dust to give a homogeneous mixture.
