Preferably the amount of blowing agent is 0À5-5% by weight of the total lute. The lute is used for the sealing of coke oven doors and typically consists of clay and colliery tailings mixed with water. The lute may also comprise reclaimed lute recovered from coke ovens. Gas evolved by the blowing agent counteracts natural shrinkage of the lute upon drying. |
