<p>1476475 Ice making S T ELFVING 21 May 1974 [14 June 1973] 22582/74 Heading F4H [Also in Division H1] A thermoelectric assembly, see Division H1, is used in a heat pump assembly for ice freezing. The cold side junction bridges 56, 57, 58 extend down between extended frames 53 and are submerged in water to be frozen in ice tray 59. The ice, once formed, can be released from the panel by reversing the current flow through the thermoelectric assembly so that the cold bridges are heated instead of cooled, the ice tray 59 being hinged at 61 so that it can be swung away from the panel to release the ice. It may be sensed when the ice has thawed at the junction bridges and the ice tray automatically swung away, and after ice release the tray, again automatically, is swung back into position, filled with water and the current reversed for freezing. The freezing period may be controlled by a time switch.</p> |
