摘要 <p>Process for cooling free flowing solids contg. sublimable or volatile components involves passing them over a cooled surface. The flow is approx. free fall from top to bottom of the cooler. However, this is carried out as a series of pulses. The mass flow per pulse should be 1.3 to 15 times the average mass flow, preferably 2 to 6 times. The increased impulse of the particles compared to the mean flow, induced by the pulsed flow, is augmented by reaction on the cooling surfaces. These consist of bundles of cooling plates joined together in parallel inclined at an angle of 30 degrees to 70 degrees to the horizontal. The bundles are so arranged under each other that the angle of succeeding rows in the opposite of the one above it. Method prevents occurrence of accretions.</p>
