Servo drive for folding hatch covers - with pivotted pressure lever to raise hatch from flat position at start of sequence

The hatch covers are in hinged pairs and have pivoted hydraulic rams along each side. Two rams on each side are linke by a pivoted pressure lever which lifts the covers from the flat setting at the start of the opening sequence. The pressure lever acts on the pressure plate on one hatch cover, suing a roller for min. wear and friction. The rams can thus be kept small as the initial opening moment is considerably reduced. As the covers are raised they are stacked together and swung to the side of the hatch. The system can be used on the large covers on large ships.
