<p>The connector is used where pipes carrying gas or other inflammable material are to be cut. The ends are first connected electrically, to reduce the risk of static electricity causing an explosion. Fire-extinguishing material is more certainly directed at the seat of the fire. The electrical connector is in the form of a pipe with holes or slots in its sides. The fire extinguisher is connected to the pipe. The openings are directed towards the area at risk. For greater adaptability in use, the perforated pipe may be made flexible, or jointed.</p> |
