Automated adjustment of contact springs - uses two oppositely moving punches to deform contact spring cross section

The contact springs are clamped at one side by a permanent deformation prior to the automatic adjusting step. The contact spring is gripped over its entire cross section by two stamping punches, moving against each other. One punch is anvil-shaped, and the other is in the form of a chisel. The movement of the chisel-shaped punch stresses the sheet beyond its yield limit. The resulting fold in the sheet is recorded by at least one measuring sensor. The latter preferably controls the screening of a photodiode, whose short circuit current affects the movement of the punches. The edge of the chisel-shaped punch is typically rounded.
