1321317 Vic-diols from olefins and hydroperoxides COMPAGNIE FRANCAISE DE RAFFINAGE 25 Nov 1970 [26 Nov 1969] 56155/70 Heading C2C Vic-diols are made by reacting an olefin with a hydroperoxide, in an aqueous medium, in contact with a catalyst made by reacting a molybdenum compound with a polyalcohol, separating the reaction products and optionally recycling the catalyst and the olefin, and optionally dehydrating the alcohol resulting from reduction of the hydroperoxide to the olefin and recycling the latter, where it is identical with the olefin used in the reaction. The catalyst may be made by reacting molybdic acid or a molybdate e.g. ammonium molybdate with the required polyalcohol, preferably the diol being prepared according to the invention.
|
