<p>The projection system for photographic slides or cine films, employs a spherical projection screen (1) extending around the sides of an auditorium. A single slide or cine projector (2) for vertical projections, is positioned at the centre of curvature of the screen (1) so that the projected images surrounds the observer from both sides and above. Pref. the projection screen (1) extends over a spherical angle of more than 180 degrees, with the convexity facing upwards. The screen (1) is formed so as to compensate for the spherical aberration of the projector objective, so that the screen image exhibits no distortion. The screen (1) pref. extends over an angle of 220 degrees.</p> |
