<p>The underground public transport system has relatively small radius loop sections joined by relatively steep slope sections and relatively large radius sections. The areas into which the track is divided are such that the centre of gravity of the stationary train coincides with the highest point of a loop or slightly beyond this point. The alighting platform for the passengers is positioned at the centre of the loop, the signals being placed at the upstream end of the loop according to the direction of travel.</p> |
