<p>PURPOSE:To surely lock a tray always in a specified insertion position without causing any irregularity by installing a locking mechanism between the tray and the main body of a supplying device, which locks the tray with an elastic force to give a sense of moderation on completion of tray insertion. CONSTITUTION:When a door 8 is opened to load copying paper P into trays 4A-4E, a rack 51 and a pinion 34 installed between the trays and the main body of a supplying device are disengaged by a door interlocking mechanism to set a locking mechanism 10 ready to lock. Therefore, when a try is pulled out, fed with copying paper and then inserted into the main body of the supplying device, the tray is locked at its specified position with a sense of moderation by the elastic force of the locking mechanism 10. When the door 8 is closed, the door interlocking mechanism, in a motion linked with it, operates to engage the rack 51 and the pinion 34 and release the locking mechanism 10. Subsequently, the tray is transferred to a position where paper feeding is made possible.</p> |
