Two:part cubical mould for test specimens of concrete - has its four sides joined together but uses loose bottom

The two-piece mould, of plastic, aluminum or cast steel, has sides made in one piece with a separate, loose bottom. The sides may be straight, or they may have an inward flange at one end to take the loose bottom. The bottom (11) lie on a stepped flange, or it may (as illustrated) be held by bolts passing through a plain flange; or bolts may be used without a flange. The loose bottom is used to push the finished specimen out of the mould, and to give good access for cleaning it.
